Peace be upon you, dear friends,
I picked up a new hobby.
I recently discovered the punch needle embroidery through my Instagram feed (It turns out the scrolling can be useful sometimes). I was inspired by the different creations (rugs, wall hangings, pillows, clothes…) with their beautiful patterns, textures, and colors. I watched a couple of how-to videos on YouTube and they’ve all tried to sell me on how easy and enjoyable it can be.
And as it turned out…It actually is.
I purchased a punch needle, some yarn, a piece of fabric, and tada!!! This was my first attempt at it.
I know! I’m a natural!
My second one was the pillow above. It’s currently sitting in our living room and every time I pass it by I get this warm fuzzy feeling inside of me. I think it’s what people call “pride”. yEaH! mUsT Be iT!
This punch needle thing is weirdly satisfying; both the process and the ending result. There is a meditative aspect to it. I sometimes get into this pleasant state of flow that makes it hard for me to stop. Unlike many crafts, the output in this type of embroidery is both important and exciting; punch needle projects can be accomplished in a few hours setting, depending on the size and complexity of the piece.
I made another pillowcase with this famous pattern in more vibrant colors (Can you guess it? Hint: created by a dutch painter) that I’ll share with you in a future issue, God willing, when it’s finally turned into a pillow.
If you enjoy making things with your hands, as I do, I recommend you give this a try. It’s totally worth it.
That’s it. Take care.
Much LOVE.

📚The Sphere of Books
I’m currently reading Derek Sivers' latest book “How to Live” and I honestly am perplexed about how I’m supposed to feel about it. I’ll let you know when I finish it (if I finish it) in a future issue God willing.
