Pick-Up 036: Love Quotes
Hey friends,
As I lack ideas to write about (and time tbh) the Love Quotes series are the go-to. I hope you enjoy these selected sayings as much as I do (or more! you never know!). Sooo….let’s jump into it.
1.On happiness:
"One of the best secrets of a happy life is the art of extracting comfort and sweetness from every circumstance...
People are always looking for happiness at some future time and in some new thing, or some new set of circumstances, in possession of which they some day expect to find themselves. But the fact is, if happiness is not found now, where we are, and as we are, there is little chance of it ever being found. There is a great deal more happiness around us day by day than we have the sense or power to seek and find.
If we are to cultivate the art of living, we should cultivate the art of extracting sweetness and comfort out of everything, as the bee goes from flower to flower in search of honey."
—Thomas Mitchell, Essays on Life.
2.On identity:
"Perhaps the clearest indicator of your internal identity is your external environment. If you are comfortable in certain environments, what does that say about you?"
—Benjamin Hardy, Willpower Doesn't Work.
3.On fear from lame
“One of the biggest things holding people back from doing great work is the fear of making something lame. And this fear is not an irrational one. Many great projects go through a stage early on where they don't seem very impressive, even to their creators. You have to push through this stage to reach the great work that lies beyond. But many people don't. Most people don't even reach the stage of making something they're embarrassed by, let alone continue past it. They're too frightened even to start."
— Paul Graham.
Keep me in your prayers. I’ll keep you in mine.
That is it!
Have a great week.
Xx
